The Citizen AQ4094-58L -Hand-dyed Blue Tosa Washi Paper Dial -Limited Edition of 400 pieces Victory Colour
Deep indigo blue Tosa washi paper “victory colour” dial with gold-coloured accents. Washi paper has long been used for paper screens in Japan to bring natural light into living spaces, making it the ideal material for Eco-Drive watch dials. Its distinctive appearance and texture reflect Japanese aesthetics that have been handed down over countless generations. Kachi-iro is a traditional deep shade of indigo that is considered lucky because it is pronounced in the same way as the word for “victory colour.” The colour was often used on samurai armor and celebratory gifts due to its association with victory. The washi paper on the dial was hand-dyed using a traditional technique known as natural lye fermentation dyeing. The dye is fermented and applied multiple times, creating a shade of indigo with incredible depth. The appearance of the delicate washi paper changes subtly depending on the angle and intensity of the light striking the dial. The CITIZEN logo, Eagle Mark, and hands on the dial are finished in an eye-catching gold colour. The crown and the Eagle Mark on the case back also feature the same appealing gold hue. These sophisticated accents are exclusive to this limited-edition model. ■Movement with high annual accuracy of ± 5 seconds and a perpetual calendar*3 This new model is equipped with a high-accuracy light-powered Eco-Drive movement with annual accuracy of ±5 seconds, eliminating the need for regular battery changes.
